***Rue passed away October 8th but we still want to share her story. We have lowered the price since we no longer need to raise money for medical expenses and so as many people as possible can enjoy her adventures. Money already raised for her medical expenses will be donated to Dachshund Rescue of South Florida's IVDD surgery fund along with part of the proceeds from new sales. ***
Rue started life as a regular dachshund but after a surgery for her back and a trip into a hyperbaric oxygen chamber she ended up with super powers. She keeps track of her daily adventures in her journal and on her blog. She is a very active differently-abled dachshund whose determination and love of life will inspire you.

Book Excerpt
" February 8- Any good super hero has to have a few “alter egos” up their sleeve. Here are the ones I have come up with so far
Rue- regular ol' me, silly, sassy, and determined is the best way to describe me.
Super Rue- the superhero in me that does amazing things like wag my tail right after surgery. (Don't confuse Super Rue with Subaru... Ones a hero and the other is a car)
Kanga"Rue"- Jumpy, bouncy troublemaker (I'm not supposed to jump so I get in ALOT of trouble when they catch me doing this)
"Rue"bo-cop- Fun police and squirrel patrol. I try to keep everyone safe and sound from squirrels and squeaky toys
"Rue"dolph the Red-Nosed Dog- Nosey little lady always trying to be involved in everyone's business... Which leads to a hurt nose
"Rue"ster- Howling hound that likes to wake people up in the morning and announce danger
"Rue"tabaga (or as my mom says Rue 'da Begga)- My street urchin alter ego that is always begging for something food-related
"March 31- Happy Easter everyone! Mom tried to turn me into the Easter "Rue"bbit this afternoon but I wasn't really feeling a second set of big ears.
I did find an Easter egg today though! Well, I thought it was an Easter Egg... I hadn't really seen one in person so I wasn't entirely sure. Dad dropped it while he was making dinner. I took off with it and carried it into the bedroom where mom was unpacking stuff. Then I decided I'd eat it before dad could get it back from me... I had to be quick because I could hear him coming down the hall looking for me.
Mom was laughing at me and I couldn't figure out why because I thought the whole point of Easter finding the eggs and getting the treats inside?!?! I sunk my teeth into that egg and found out it was rotten! All sour and yucky and I did not like it one bit. Turns out its something called a lime and there wasn't anything good inside. If that's an ingredient in tonight's dinner then you can count me out of looking for a few table scraps. I don't care I there is chicken involved or not!

My wife has been a longtime follower of Super Rue on Facebook. I got used to hearing daily tales of Super Rue's heroic adventures and this tiny little angel just became part of our daily life. Not a day goes by when we do not discuss our lil' Rue and as we read of her declining health we longed to reach out and touch the extraordinary little dog that is always on constant alert for pesky tree rats and finding adventures in every facet of life, be it rabbits or frogs or humans.Reading the book, I wept with joy and also with sorry, the author carries the reader on a journey of love that becomes a tale of hope and faith, avid fans become truly adoring fans/lovers/friends of this mighty hero. I pray that the vets working to save our little superhero are successful, I pray that each reader will spread the news of this book to help raise funds needed for urgent care and surgeries.
We live in a world of villains, overrun not only with the tree rats Rue is on constant alert for, but with genuine "rats" and people far less deserving than sweet little Rue, I beg of you to partake in this journey with Super Rue and see the good, decent and loving side of life she represents so completely and I also ask that you pray for the life of our Super Hero, because even Super Heroes need HEROES, won't you be one and purchase this book to help sweet little Rue?

I loved it and after reading it plan to read it to my 6 year old grandson, just sad because I know the adventure ends.

I loved the daily short tales of Rue a rescue newly adopted dachshund who struggles to regain the use of her rear legs after surgery. She discovers she has "super" powers and subsequent tales incorporate Super Rue her dachshund sister Emma human mom and dad. Dog lovers and dachshund lovers will love this book as I certainly did. My review is really not doing justice as to how good it is told through the voice of Super Rue. Loved it, reread it regularly.
I followed Rue on Facebook (still do!), and this is a great book. I'm buying the 2nd part today. I was devastated to hear of her passing, but happy to help by buying the book. Money goes to help puppies in need. If you know anything about Rue, you'll love this book, and then want to buy the 2nd one!
This book is the story of Super Rue, a rescue dachshund, who, through the authors eyes, showed a great spirit through a series of wonderful adventures.
Compete with full color photos, you will come to admire Rue's spirit and will in not letting paralysis hold her back. Charming, humorous, well written.
A must have for adults, children...and the child within us.
She will always be my super hero. I cry today because she was taken from us so soon.
Rue's mommy and daddy dedicated their heart and soul into saving this sweet, sweet baby. So many unknowns before she was adopted into her fur-ever home. All you can do is love them and hope everything works out for the best.
Super Rue's Adventures is heartwarming. Thank you for sharing her precious life with us.

Update February 2016, I still revisit this book series all the time - and still follow Super Rues facebook page, and cry on important dates, she was such an important and influential dachshund, even Miley Cyrus loved her, she has either a shirt, or the painting that was donated and then auctioned off in her honor. My grandchildren are convinced that my dog pebbles is Rue (without the cool wheels). I miss Rue and her adventures every single day.
Rue is just awesome, you'll laugh you'll cry, but following her adventures will most definitely make you smile. She's been through a lot, so buying her book will help,her mom and dad care for the many vet visits from all her antics, toads, lizards, anti wrinkle creams, back surgery amputations and more.

I've followed Rue's story since the beginning when she was looking for her forever home and dealing with IVDD. Almost every day Rue has a new adventure that she posts to her Facebook page with help from her parents. So many of us following her look forward to reading these posts. This book is a collaboration of her hilarious updates. If you are a dog lover I'm sure you will appreciate Rue and the humorous way her parents journal her sometimes difficult life. These people are truly angels for taking on the huge responsibility of a special needs rescue! One note about the price for this "single size" book.......this was put on as a way to give back to those donating to Rue's medical fund and not another overpriced book! Another great idea!!
